Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) without greasing the angel food cake pan.
- Sift together the cake flour and ¾ cup of granulated sugar into a bowl.
- Beat the egg whites in a clean mixing bowl until foamy.
- Add cream of tartar and salt, continuing to beat until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the remaining ¾ cup of sugar while beating until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in vanilla extract, strawberry extract, and pink food coloring.
- Sift the flour mixture over the whipped egg whites in three batches, folding gently.
- Spoon the batter into the ungreased tube pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden and springs back when pressed.
- Invert immediately and cool for at least an hour.
- Run a knife around the edges to release the cake once cool.
- Frost with pink buttercream frosting and add colorful sprinkles.
