  • 12 large egg whites, room temperature
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cream of tartar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon strawberry extract
  • 12 drops pink food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) without greasing the angel food cake pan.
  2. Sift together the cake flour and ¾ cup of granulated sugar into a bowl.
  3. Beat the egg whites in a clean mixing bowl until foamy.
  4. Add cream of tartar and salt, continuing to beat until soft peaks form.
  5. Gradually add the remaining ¾ cup of sugar while beating until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold in vanilla extract, strawberry extract, and pink food coloring.
  7. Sift the flour mixture over the whipped egg whites in three batches, folding gently.
  8. Spoon the batter into the ungreased tube pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden and springs back when pressed.
  10. Invert immediately and cool for at least an hour.
  11. Run a knife around the edges to release the cake once cool.
  12. Frost with pink buttercream frosting and add colorful sprinkles.
