- 2 cans (10 oz each) Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 whole jalapeño pepper, quartered and thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 cup freshly chopped cilantro
- Juice of 1/2 fresh lime
Instructions
- Start by opening the can of whole tomatoes, and pour them along with their juice into a large mixing bowl. Next, add the two cans of Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies to the mixture.
- Chop the onion finely and mince the garlic before adding them to your bowl. Then, take your prepared jalapeño pepper and add it to the mix.
- Now it’s time to season your salsa. Sprinkle in the granulated sugar, sea salt, and ground cumin.
- Gently fold in the chopped cilantro and squeeze in the fresh lime juice, mixing everything together well.
- Allow your salsa to rest for at least 30 minutes before serving.
