- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup dill pickles, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
- 1 (32-ounce) bag frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce (optional, for topping)
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
- Additional Thousand Island dressing for drizzling
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef until it’s well-browned. Add in the finely chopped yellow onion and sauté until the onions are soft. Drain any excess grease.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and chopped dill pickles. Season with salt and black pepper, mixing thoroughly.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease your 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the bottom. Pour 1/2 cup of Thousand Island dressing over the beef and sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese.
- Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until tater tots are golden brown and the casserole is bubbling.
- Let the casserole rest for about 5 minutes. Top with shredded lettuce, sprinkle sesame seeds, and drizzle with more Thousand Island dressing before serving warm.
