- 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil, then add ground beef and seasonings, and cook until browned.
- Prepare the cream sauce by heating heavy cream and beef broth in a saucepan.
- Layer sliced potatoes, beef mixture, cheddar cheese, and pour the cream sauce over, then top with mozzarella cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
- Garnish with parsley, let cool for 5 minutes, and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure to slice the potatoes thinly for even cooking and tenderness throughout the casserole. Feel free to experiment with different cheese blends, such as pepper jack for a spicy version!
