Description

Indulge your taste buds with the delightful and comforting Cheesy Garlic Butter Linguine with Beef, Sausage and Spinach.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz linguine
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by placing a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet. As they cook, use a wooden spoon to break the meats into smaller crumbles. Continue to cook until the meat is browned throughout and no longer pink. Make sure to drain any excess fat from the skillet to keep the dish from becoming greasy.
  2. Into the same skillet, introduce the butter. Allow it to melt completely, then toss in the minced garlic. Stir the mixture continuously for about a minute or until the garlic becomes fragrant and slightly golden, releasing its delightful aroma.
  3. Next, gradually add the fresh spinach to the skillet. Stir continuously as the heat begins to wilt the leaves, maintaining their vibrant color while blending with the garlic and meat mixture.
  4. While the spinach is wilting, cook the linguine in a separate pot filled with salted boiling water. Follow the package instructions to achieve an al dente texture. Before draining the pasta, remember to reserve one cup of the starchy pasta water for later use.
  5. Drain the linguine and add it to the skillet containing the meat and spinach. Gradually pour in the reserved pasta water to help loosen and bind the sauce to the pasta strands.
  6. Once the pasta is adequately mixed, sprinkle in the shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan. Continually stir until the cheeses are fully melted and the entire mixture is creamy and well-blended.
  7. Finally, enhance the dish with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes for added heat, if desired. Serve your creation hot, with extra parmesan for those who enjoy an extra cheesy kick.

Notes

For a deeper flavor, let the garlic sauté longer but watch closely to prevent burning.
