Description

Comforting Cheesy Hot Beef Sandwiches that are easy to make and delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shredded beef (slow-cooked or roast leftovers)
  • 8 slices of thick white bread
  • 4 slices of provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  2. Take the softened butter and generously spread it on one side of each slice of bread. Flip the slices over and apply the mayonnaise mixture to the unbuttered side.
  3. Heat your skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place four slices of the bread, butter-side down, onto the skillet. On each slice, layer a slice of your chosen cheese, followed by an ample portion of the shredded beef. Top with another slice of bread, butter-side up.
  4. Cook each sandwich for approximately 3 to 4 minutes on one side. Once browned, flip the sandwiches over and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until cheese is melted.
  5. Once cooked, remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice them in half, and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For best results, use day-old bread; it’s sturdier and works better during cooking.
