Cheesy Spinach Stuffed Bread

  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

Welcome to a world of warm, cheesy, and irresistibly delicious bread!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Allow this mixture to sit for about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Once your yeast is bubbly, add olive oil, salt, and flour to the bowl. Mix these ingredients together until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead it for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. While the dough rises, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a separate bowl, mix together the mozzarella, ricotta, chopped spinach, basil, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Once your dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball, then flatten it into a circle.
  7. Take a scoop of the cheesy spinach mixture and place it in the center of each circle. Carefully fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal them well.
  8. Arrange your stuffed breads on a lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  9. For the best experience, serve these delightful breads warm straight out of the oven.

Notes

If you want a crispier crust, try brushing the tops with a little olive oil before baking.
