Description
This Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole is a delightful dish that combines convenience, versatility, and comforting flavors in one easy-to-make meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 cups frozen tater tots
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and greasing the bottom and sides of a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or a bit of oil.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it is well-browned. Make sure to break it up with a spatula as it cooks to ensure even browning throughout.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the beef, cooking for about 3–4 minutes until the onions are softened and translucent.
- Next, stir in the garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another minute or so to meld the flavors together.
- Pour in the cream of mushroom soup and, if using, the frozen mixed vegetables. Mix everything together thoroughly until well combined and heated through.
- Spread the beef and soup mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish, smoothing it out with a spatula.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheesy mixture, covering it completely.
- Place the casserole in your preheated oven and bake it uncovered for about 35–40 minutes.
- Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
