- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Salted Caramel:
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons salted butter, room temperature, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup heavy cream, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, blend melted butter with both sugars. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
- Combine dry and wet mixtures. Fold in chocolate chips. Press into a prepared baking pan. Bake 20-25 minutes.
- For caramel, melt sugar in saucepan. Add butter till incorporated.
- Stir in cream, allow to boil briefly, then add sea salt. Let cool slightly.
- Pour caramel over baked cookie base. Let set, then slice into bars.
