  • Author: Alioui

  • Yield: 48 servings 1x

Description

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownie Bombs are a delightful combination of fudgy brownies and sweet cookie dough, all enveloped in chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 18.3 ounces Chewy Fudge brownie mix, plus the ingredients called for on the box (eggs, oil, and water)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream, cold
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 20 ounces dark chocolate melting wafers
  • 5 ounces milk chocolate melting wafers

Instructions

  1. Start by prepping your brownies according to the package instructions. Preheat your oven as directed and mix together the brownie mix with the required eggs, oil, and water. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, generally around 25-30 minutes. Once baked, let the brownies cool completely before lifting them out of the pan for assembly.
  2. After the brownies have cooled, carefully lift them out of the pan and trim off the edges for a nice, clean presentation. Using a sharp knife, cut the brownies into 48 equal squares, which will house the cookie dough balls. Set these aside as you prepare the cookie dough filling.
  3. Preheat your oven to 300°F. Spread the all-purpose flour evenly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes to eliminate any potential bacteria (this technique is known as heat-treating flour). Allow the flour to cool completely after removing it from the oven. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy. Gradually mix in the heavy cream, and then add the cooled flour along with the salt. Stir in mini chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough, creating an irresistible filling.
  4. Using a mini scoop, portion out the cookie dough and roll into small balls. Place them on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for 30-45 minutes. Freezing helps the dough maintain its shape when added to the brownie, so this step is crucial for assembling your brownie bombs.
  5. Once your cookie dough balls are frozen, take one brownie square and flatten it slightly in your hand. Place a cookie dough ball in the center, then gently wrap the brownie around it, ensuring that the cookie dough is entirely enveloped. Repeat this process with the remaining brownies and dough, then freeze the brownie-covered cookie dough bombs for 1-2 hours to set.
  6. To finish off these decadent treats, melt the dark chocolate melting wafers in a microwave or double boiler. Carefully dip each brownie bomb into the chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated, then transfer them to a parchment-lined baking sheet. The rich dark chocolate layer seals in the delicious flavors and adds that appealing glossy finish. Finally, drizzle melted milk chocolate on top of the coated brownie bombs for an extra touch of sweetness. Allow the chocolate to harden for 10-15 minutes before indulging in your treats.

Notes

These bombs can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge or freezer in an airtight container.
