Description

Bring a festive twist to your holiday table with this Christmas Taco Cheese Ball Wreath! This creamy, zesty, and delightfully colorful appetizer is guaranteed to wow your guests and add a vibrant touch to your holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • ½ packet taco seasoning
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, stems removed
  • 4 green onions, roughly chopped
  • 1 (4 oz) can diced green chile peppers
  • 1 medium Roma tomato, cored and diced
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped white onion
  • 1 medium jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing your workspace. Line a 16-ounce bowl with plastic wrap, ensuring the excess wrap hangs over the edges. This is a critical step that allows for easy removal after chilling. Set your bowl aside and chop the green onions, cilantro, tomato, and jalapeño.
  2. In a food processor, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, and taco seasoning. Pulse the mixture until smooth and well-combined. Add in half of the chopped cilantro, green onions, and diced green chiles and pulse a few more times.
  3. Using a spatula, transfer the cheese mixture into the prepared bowl. Press it down firmly. Once filled, cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  4. After chilling, gently invert the cheese ball onto a serving platter, peeling off the plastic wrap. Carve out a hole in the center to create the wreath look.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining cilantro over the top of your cheese ball wreath. Mix diced tomato, chopped onion, and jalapeño together and spoon around the edge of the cheese ball.

Notes

Let the cheese ball chill for a full 24 hours for enhanced flavors. Mix the vegetables in gently to maintain texture.
