Description
This Churro Saltine Toffee offers a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and a touch of spice, perfect for a quick and delightful treat in just 25 minutes!
Ingredients
- Saltine crackers – 1 sleeve (about 40 crackers)
- Unsalted butter – 1 cup (2 sticks)
- Brown sugar – 1 cup, packed
- Granulated sugar – 1/2 cup
- Ground cinnamon – 2 teaspoons
- Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips – 1 cup
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). As your oven warms up, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay out the saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In your saucepan, combine the unsalted butter and packed brown sugar. Set over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture fully melts and starts to bubble. Allow it to reach a boil and maintain the boil for 3-4 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and pour the toffee mixture over the saltine crackers.
- Transfer the baking sheet to your preheated oven and let it bake for 5-7 minutes until the toffee is bubbling nicely. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, then drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled toffee.
Notes
Store the toffee in an airtight container to maintain crispness. Try different chocolate types for varied flavor.
