  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 10 servings

Description

This Churro Saltine Toffee offers a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and a touch of spice, perfect for a quick and delightful treat in just 25 minutes!

Ingredients

  • Saltine crackers – 1 sleeve (about 40 crackers)
  • Unsalted butter – 1 cup (2 sticks)
  • Brown sugar – 1 cup, packed
  • Granulated sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Ground cinnamon – 2 teaspoons
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips – 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). As your oven warms up, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay out the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  2. In your saucepan, combine the unsalted butter and packed brown sugar. Set over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture fully melts and starts to bubble. Allow it to reach a boil and maintain the boil for 3-4 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and pour the toffee mixture over the saltine crackers.
  3. Transfer the baking sheet to your preheated oven and let it bake for 5-7 minutes until the toffee is bubbling nicely. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, then drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled toffee.

Notes

Store the toffee in an airtight container to maintain crispness. Try different chocolate types for varied flavor.
