  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • 34 cups buttercream frosting
  • White chocolate shards (optional)
  • Edible gold leaf (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two 8-inch cake pans with parchment paper.
  2. Beat unsalted butter and granulated sugar until fluffy, then add eggs one at a time, followed by the extracts.
  3. Add flour mixture alternately with milk until just combined, then divide batter between pans.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean, then cool before frosting.
  5. Frost and decorate with sliced almonds and white chocolate.
