Description
This creamy cavatappi pasta is perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a quick comfort meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces cavatappi pasta
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add in the cavatappi pasta and cook according to the instructions on the package, typically around 8-10 minutes until it is al dente. Remember to reserve a cup of the starchy pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta cooks, take a wide skillet and place it over medium heat. Add the unsalted butter and allow it to melt slowly. Once the butter has melted, pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently. Allow the cream to warm up without boiling.
- Once the cavatappi is cooked and drained, add it directly into the warm skillet with the cream sauce. Sprinkle in the finely grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Gently toss everything together.
- Just before serving, fold in the freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and freshness. Serve immediately while warm and creamy.
Notes
For the creamiest sauce, use high-quality heavy cream and finely grated Parmesan.
