If you’re searching for a dish that marries convenience with the comforting flavors of a classic cheesesteak, look no further than this Creamy Cheesesteak Tortellini recipe. This dish is an extraordinary blend of juicy steak, tender cheese tortellini, and a luxurious sauce that will make your taste buds dance.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak or ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 20 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water (optional)
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing the steak as thinly as possible against the grain.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the steak in batches, searing it for only 1-2 minutes on each side until brown.
  3. Without cleaning the skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once the butter melts, introduce the sliced onions and cook them gently.
  4. Next, deglaze the pan by adding the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes before adding the heavy cream.
  5. In a separate pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions.
  6. Finally, return the seared steak to the sauce. Gently fold in the cooked tortellini.
  7. Once everything is well-combined and heated through, garnish your Creamy Cheesesteak Tortellini with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

Ensure you slice the steak thinly against the grain to maintain tenderness.
