Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin steak or ribeye, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp cream cheese
- 20 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water (optional)
- 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by slicing the steak as thinly as possible against the grain.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the steak in batches, searing it for only 1-2 minutes on each side until brown.
- Without cleaning the skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once the butter melts, introduce the sliced onions and cook them gently.
- Next, deglaze the pan by adding the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes before adding the heavy cream.
- In a separate pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions.
- Finally, return the seared steak to the sauce. Gently fold in the cooked tortellini.
- Once everything is well-combined and heated through, garnish your Creamy Cheesesteak Tortellini with freshly chopped parsley.
