- 3 large Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and cut into fry-sized strips
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 cup Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Milk
- Vegetable Oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
- Optional Dipping Sauce: Caramel or Vanilla Yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat your deep skillet or Dutch oven with vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add milk to create a smooth batter.
- Pat apple strips dry with paper towels. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Dip apple strips into the batter and let excess drip off before frying.
- Fry apple strips for 2–3 minutes until golden-brown, turning once for even cooking.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Toss in cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve warm with optional dipping sauces.
