Description

This Crispy Balsamic-Thyme Potato Torte is an elegant and flavorful dish that will elevate your meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh thyme sprigs (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your cake or tart pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced potatoes with the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, fresh thyme, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Layer half of the seasoned potato slices in the prepared pan and repeat with the remaining slices, compacting them slightly.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 20–25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Let the torte cool for 5–10 minutes before serving, garnished with fresh thyme.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil the top of the torte for a minute or two after uncovering it.
