Description

Buffalo air fryer chicken nuggets are a flavorful and healthier alternative to traditional fried nuggets that everyone will adore.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup hot sauce
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray or olive oil (for misting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for about 3 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and hot sauce until well combined, then add chicken pieces and let sit for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Combine panko breadcrumbs, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in another bowl.
  4. Coat each piece of marinated chicken in the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer, lightly spray with oil, and cook at 400°F for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Serve hot, optionally tossing in extra Buffalo sauce.

Notes

For meal prep, marinate the chicken pieces the night before and store them in the refrigerator until ready to cook.
