Description
Crispy Pan-Fried Fish is the perfect dish for anyone craving seafood that’s both simple and delicious.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Start by preparing your coating mixture. In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Next, take your fish fillets and pat them dry using paper towels. Dredge each fillet in the flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure it’s well-coated on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering and hot, add in the butter.
- Carefully place the coated fillets in the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side or until golden brown, then flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side.
- Once cooked, remove the fish from the pan and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of parsley.
Notes
Ensure your oil is hot enough before adding the fish—this helps create that perfect crispy exterior.
