- For the Ganache: 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped (use high-quality chocolate for the best ganache)
- 1 cup cherry pie filling (store-bought or homemade)
- Maraschino cherries for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the cake batter by combining dry ingredients in a mixing bowl, then adding wet ingredients and mixing until smooth.
- Bake the cake layers in prepared pans at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes, then cool.
- Make the ganache by simmering cream, mixing with chocolate until smooth, and allowing to cool slightly.
- Assemble the cake by layering cooled cake with cherry filling and ganache.
- Garnish with maraschino cherries and serve.
