  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup finely chopped fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh strawberries (whole or halved, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round pans.
  2. Prepare the chocolate cake mix as instructed, adding water, oil, and eggs. Fold in chopped strawberries.
  3. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake 25–30 minutes.
  4. Let cakes cool before assembling with strawberry jam between layers.
  5. Heat cream and butter for ganache, mix in chopped chocolate until smooth.
  6. Frost the assembled cake with ganache and garnish with strawberries.
  7. Chill before slicing for easier serving.
