Ingredients

- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- ½ cup melted butter (unsalted preferred, but salted works too)
- 3 large eggs (divided)
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- ½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk, based on preference)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and one egg to form the crust.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese, add remaining eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla, then fold in pecans and chocolate chips for the filling.
- Spread filling over the crust in the baking dish.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is set and the center is soft.
- Cool, cut, and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a week.
