Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Start by preparing the crust. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 1/2 cup of cold, cubed unsalted butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix them until the mixture is crumbly. This is the key to a flaky crust! Next, fold in 1/4 cup of chopped pecans until combined.
  2. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of your baking dish to create an even layer. Bake the crust for about 15-20 minutes, or until it’s golden brown. Once baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool while you prepare the layers.
