Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa), chopped
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- Optional toppings: cocoa powder, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, chocolate sprinkles, melted chocolate
Instructions
- Prepare Your Chocolate: Start by finely chopping the dark chocolate and placing it in a large heatproof bowl.
- Heat the Cream: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until you see steam rising and the cream begins to simmer gently.
- Combine Cream and Chocolate: Pour the heated cream over the chopped chocolate. Allow it to sit undisturbed for 2–3 minutes, then stir until a silky ganache forms.
- Add Flavors: Stir in the unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until fully combined.
- Chill the Ganache: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1.5 to 2 hours until firm.
- Form the Truffles: Scoop out approximately 1-inch balls from the ganache.
- Coat Your Truffles: Roll each truffle in toppings or coat with melted chocolate.
- Chill Again: Arrange truffles on a baking sheet and chill for about 10–15 minutes before serving.
