  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 20 truffles 1x

Description

Indulge in the rich, creamy goodness of these decadent homemade chocolate truffles!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa), chopped
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Optional toppings: cocoa powder, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, chocolate sprinkles, melted chocolate

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Chocolate: Start by finely chopping the dark chocolate and placing it in a large heatproof bowl.
  2. Heat the Cream: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until you see steam rising and the cream begins to simmer gently.
  3. Combine Cream and Chocolate: Pour the heated cream over the chopped chocolate. Allow it to sit undisturbed for 2–3 minutes, then stir until a silky ganache forms.
  4. Add Flavors: Stir in the unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until fully combined.
  5. Chill the Ganache: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1.5 to 2 hours until firm.
  6. Form the Truffles: Scoop out approximately 1-inch balls from the ganache.
  7. Coat Your Truffles: Roll each truffle in toppings or coat with melted chocolate.
  8. Chill Again: Arrange truffles on a baking sheet and chill for about 10–15 minutes before serving.
