  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: Approximately 70 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

Our Apple and Custard Impossible Pie not only epitomizes simple, indulgent comfort food but is also a testament to the power of baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups thinly sliced apples (peeled)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or dairy milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Optional Toppings:

  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
  • Cinnamon sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, toss sliced apples with sugar and cinnamon.
  2. For the custard mixture, place flour, unsweetened almond milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and baking powder into a blender. Blend these ingredients to achieve a smooth batter.
  3. Take your prepared pie dish and lightly grease it to ensure easy removal post-baking. Evenly spread the cinnamon-coated apple slices over the bottom of the dish. Then pour the blended custard mixture evenly over the apples.
  4. With the oven preheated, place the pie in to bake for 45–50 minutes.
  5. Once baked, let your pie cool for about 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure apple slices are thin for even cooking; thicker slices may lead to underbaked sections.
