A delicious fusion of traditional baklava and a soft bundt cake that will impress your guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup chopped pistachios
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This will ensure that your cake bakes evenly. While that’s heating up, take your bundt pan and grease it generously with butter or a non-stick cooking spray. Proper greasing is crucial as it helps prevent the cake from sticking once it’s baked.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until well combined and set the bowl aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, take your softened butter and combine it with both the granulated and brown sugars. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the mixture until it becomes light and fluffy, approximately 3 to 4 minutes.
- Next, add the eggs to the creamed butter mixture one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then gently stir in the Greek yogurt, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
- Once your liquids are well mixed in, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix just until the flour is incorporated.
- Now, it’s time to fold in the chopped walnuts, pistachios, and cinnamon.
- Pour the prepared batter into your greased bundt pan. Slide the pan into the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45 to 50 minutes.
- While your cake is baking, take a small saucepan and combine honey, water, fresh lemon juice, and orange zest. Bring to a boil, then simmer for about 5 minutes.
- After the cake has baked, let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate and drizzle with the warm honey syrup.
- Your beautiful Baklava Bundt Cake is now ready for serving!
