- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup figs, chopped or sliced (fresh or dried)
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh rosemary or thyme, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Season your chicken breasts generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add chicken breasts, cooking for 5-6 minutes per side.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds, then pour in balsamic vinegar, figs, and honey. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Return chicken to skillet, coating well with glaze, and cook for 2-3 minutes more.
- Remove chicken, let it rest for a couple of minutes, plate, and drizzle extra glaze on top.
Notes
Make sure to not overcrowd the skillet when searing; cook in batches if necessary.
