- 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3–4 bananas)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or mini chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 3 to 4 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
- Mix in mashed bananas and sour cream.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl, then fold into wet ingredients.
- Fold in optional ingredients like nuts or chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes.
- Allow to cool, then prepare frosting and spread over brownies.
- Slice into squares and enjoy!
Notes
For the best flavor, use very ripe bananas with plenty of brown spots.
