  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line your 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the softened butter with both the granulated and brown sugar until fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about ¾ full.
  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  10. As the cupcakes cool, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
  11. Spread or pipe the chilled frosting onto the cooled cupcakes and garnish with banana chips.
