Description
Comforting and customizable beef and cheese stuffed burritos, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup salsa
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook it slowly, using a spatula to break it apart as it browns. This process should take about 5-7 minutes.
- After draining any excess fat from the skillet, return it to the stove. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the beef, then pour in the water. Stir the mixture well, ensuring the seasoning fully coats the beef. Let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld perfectly.
- While the beef mixture is simmering, warm your flour tortillas. You can do this by briefly heating each tortilla in a dry skillet or microwaving them for 15-20 seconds. Keeping them warm makes them pliable and easier to fold without cracking.
- To assemble, take a tortilla and spoon a generous portion of the beef mixture onto its center. Sprinkle a handful of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef, and get ready to wrap it all up. Carefully fold the sides over the filling and roll tightly to form a burrito.
Notes
Ensure the beef is well browned to enhance the flavor further before seasoning. For a crispy burrito, try lightly toasting it in a skillet after wrapping to create a textural contrast.
