- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt; whisk to mix.
- Add cold, cubed butter and cut into flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Make a well in the flour mixture and pour in buttermilk; stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and pat into a rectangle about 1/2-inch thick.
- Fold the dough in half and then pat down to 1/2-inch thick; repeat 2-3 times.
- Cut out biscuits and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown; cool on a wire rack before serving.
