Description

If you are a fan of snacks that pack a punch, then you’re in for a treat with this Cajun Fried Corn recipe inspired by the famous Wingstop flavor!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ears fresh corn, cut into thirds
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Start by shucking the corn and then cut each ear into thirds. It’s essential to pat each piece dry using a paper towel to ensure that they fry properly. Too much moisture on the corn can result in oil splatter and soggy corn bites instead of the crispy texture you’re aiming for.
  2. In a large pot or deep fryer, heat sufficient oil until it reaches 350°F. Using a thermometer will help prevent overheating and burning your oil. While waiting for the oil to reach the right temperature, you can take a moment to mix the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. This mix will add that signature flavor that makes these corn bites irresistible.
  3. Once the oil is hot, carefully lower the corn pieces into it. Ensure you don’t overcrowd the pot to maintain the oil temperature. Fry the corn for about 4–5 minutes or until they achieve a beautiful golden brown color and crispy texture. When they are done, use a slotted spoon to remove them, and place them on a paper towel-lined tray to catch any excess oil.
  4. While the corn is still hot, drizzle the melted butter over them, then sprinkle your prepared Cajun spice mix generously. Toss them well until evenly coated to ensure every bite is packed with flavor. If you like, garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately with a side of ranch dressing or spicy mayo for dipping. Now, indulge in your delicious snack!

Notes

Using frozen mini corn cobs can be a great alternative if fresh corn is out of season.
