  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 43 minutes
  • Yield: 12 bars 1x

Description

A delightful treat that captures the essence of childhood joy and celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ Cup Butter, softened
  • ¾ Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Egg and 1 Egg Yolk
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ½ Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ¼ Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 ½ Teaspoons Cornstarch
  • 1 Cup White Chocolate Chips
  • ½ Cup Rainbow Sprinkles
  • ¾ Cup Butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 2 ¼ Cups Confectioners’ Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract (for frosting)
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your 9×9 inch baking pan with aluminum foil, ensuring that it hangs over the edges for easy removal of the bars once baked. Spritz the foil with non-stick cooking spray to prevent any sticking to your delicious creation.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and white sugar together until the mixture is smooth and creamy. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes with a hand mixer. Add in one egg and one egg yolk, along with the two teaspoons of vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cornstarch. Gradually add this dry blend to your wet ingredients. Mix gently.
  4. Fold in the white chocolate chips and rainbow sprinkles with a spatula.
  5. Transfer the batter into your prepared baking pan. Bake in your preheated oven for 25-28 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned. Allow the bars to cool completely.
  6. While the bars are cooling, beat the softened butter until smooth for the frosting. Gradually add in the milk and vanilla extract, then incorporate the confectioners’ sugar until fluffy.
  7. Once the bars are cooled, spread the buttercream over the top and sprinkle additional rainbow sprinkles if desired. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Store any leftover bars in an airtight container to maintain freshness; they can last up to a week.
