- 1/3 cup pecan halves
- 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil for toasting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly grease a 1-quart baking dish with a little butter or oil.
- In a small skillet, toast the pecan halves with vegetable oil over medium heat until fragrant.
- Layer the yam rounds evenly in the baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add brown sugar, maple syrup, spices, and salt; stir until smooth and bubbly.
- Pour the glaze over the yams and toss gently.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Sprinkle toasted pecans over yams before serving.
