This Cheddar Bay Seafood Pie combines the rich, savory flavors of seafood with the comforting, cheesy goodness of a classic pot pie.

- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ½ lb lump crab meat
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- ½ cup seafood stock or chicken broth
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (plus extra for garnish)
- 1 pack Cheddar Bay biscuit mix
- ⅓ cup milk (for biscuit mix)
- ¼ cup melted butter (for brushing biscuit tops)
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add celery, bell pepper, and onion. Sauté for 5 to 7 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Sprinkle flour over vegetables and whisk for 1 to 2 minutes for a smooth paste.
- Pour in heavy cream and stock, stirring until thickened.
- Fold in shrimp and crab until shrimp turns pink. Add cheddar, Old Bay, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon mixture into a greased casserole dish or ramekins. Smooth the top.
- Prepare Cheddar Bay biscuit mix with milk. Drop batter over seafood mixture.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
- Remove from oven and brush biscuits with melted butter. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Ensure shrimp and crab are fresh for the best flavor. Use freshly grated cheese for better texture.
