  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Description

A vibrant and crunchy side dish that blends the crisp textures of cabbages and carrots with the creamy delight of cheddar cheese, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Green Cabbage: 4 cups, finely shredded
  • Red Cabbage: 2 cups, shredded
  • Carrots: 2 large, grated
  • Cheddar Cheese: 1 ½ cups, freshly shredded
  • Mayonnaise: ¾ cup
  • Apple Cider Vinegar: 2 tablespoons
  • Honey: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: ½ teaspoon
  • Celery Seeds: ½ teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Begin by prepping your equipment. For an exceptionally refreshing slaw, place your mixing bowl in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the finely shredded green and red cabbages with the grated carrots. Toss and then add the freshly shredded cheddar cheese, tossing again.
  3. In a smaller bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, black pepper, and celery seeds until smooth.
  4. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and gently toss to combine.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Toss again before serving. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Notes

Always use freshly shredded cheese for a creamier texture. The slaw can be made a day ahead for deeper flavors.
