Description

The Cheesy Beefaroni Casserole effortlessly becomes the highlight of your mealtime, offering warmth and flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet, heat one tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  2. Once the beef is nicely browned, add the chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté them for about 2-3 minutes until the onions soften.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, salt, and black pepper, along with red pepper flakes if you’re using them. Let this concoction simmer for a good 5 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked elbow macaroni to the skillet, stirring well to coat every piece of pasta with the sauce. Transfer this mixture into your prepared baking dish.
  5. Generously sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top. Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Ensure the macaroni is cooked just until al dente; it will continue to cook in the oven.
