- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

- 2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet, heat one tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Once the beef is nicely browned, add the chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté them for about 2-3 minutes until the onions soften.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, salt, and black pepper, along with red pepper flakes if you’re using them. Let this concoction simmer for a good 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked elbow macaroni to the skillet, stirring well to coat every piece of pasta with the sauce. Transfer this mixture into your prepared baking dish.
- Generously sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top. Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
