Description
Are you on the hunt for a quick yet delectable dinner that embodies the essence of fine dining? Look no further than these mouthwatering Cheesy Garlic Butter Steak Bites!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes (or use ribeye, filet mignon, or New York strip for extra tenderness)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (use freshly shredded cheese for best results!)
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a spicy kick)
- 2 cups yellow rice, cooked
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Begin by taking your bite-sized sirloin steak pieces and placing them in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle the steak with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder, ensuring an even coating. Toss gently to mix the seasonings, allowing them to absorb into the meat. Let the seasoned steak sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
- Next, heat the olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully add your seasoned steak bites in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Lower the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter to the same skillet, allowing it to melt. As the butter begins to foam, introduce the minced garlic, cooking for around 30 seconds until fragrant. Return the seared steak bites to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic butter sauce.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, pour in the heavy cream and allow it to warm gently. Carefully add the shredded sharp cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper (if desired). Whisk continuously until the cheese melts into a creamy sauce.
- To serve, spoon the cooked yellow rice onto each plate, creating a lovely base. Top with the garlic butter steak bites and drizzle the cheese sauce over everything.
Notes
Allow the steak to rest for a few minutes after cooking for enhanced tenderness.
