Description

This Cheesy Pepperoni Potato Casserole is a comfort food combining pizza and pasta flavors, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) potato gnocchi
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1215 pepperoni slices
  • ½ cup sliced black olives
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) to create the perfect conditions for baking your casserole. While your oven warms up, gather your ingredients.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Carefully add the potato gnocchi and follow the package instructions for cooking time.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the cooked gnocchi to the hot skillet and sauté them for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Once the gnocchi are perfectly sautéed, pour in the 2 cups of marinara sauce, stirring gently to ensure all of the gnocchi are well-coated.
  5. Arrange the pepperoni slices and sliced black olives in an even layer over the cheese, then sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella cheese evenly over the entire casserole.
  6. Sprinkle dried oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes over the dish. Move the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the skillet from the oven and garnish your casserole with fresh basil leaves. Serve hot.
