Description

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Twists offer a delightful new way to enjoy the flavors of classic chocolate chip cookies. With their playful shape and balanced combination of textures, these treats are sure to become a favorite for anyone looking to elevate their cookie game. Whether you’re hosting a party or simply treating yourself, these twists promise a delicious experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Start by heating your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven warms up, line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking soda.
  3. Using an electric mixer, beat the room temperature butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the salt, vanilla extract, and eggs with the creamed butter and sugar until everything is well-blended.
  5. Gradually stir the dry flour mixture into the wet ingredients until just blended, then fold in the semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips.
  6. Divide the dough into two portions. Roll each half out into rectangles about ¼ inch thick. Cut the dough into strips and give each strip a gentle twist.
  7. Transfer the twisted strips onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each. Bake them for 10–12 minutes or until they reach a golden hue. Cool them slightly on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Make sure your butter is at room temperature to ensure a smooth, even mix. To prevent cookies from spreading too much, consider chilling the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes before shaping and baking.
