Description

If you’re seeking a delightful treat that balances the creamy richness of chocolate with the fresh zing of strawberries, look no further than Chocolate Strawberry Rice Krispy Treats. This fun twist on the traditional Rice Krispy treats combines the nostalgic crunch of Rice Krispies with delightful notes of sweet strawberries and decadent chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package (10 ounces) marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries, chopped, divided
  • 3/4 cup chocolate candy melts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Start your process by taking a 9×9 inch pan and greasing it with cooking spray or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the Butter and Marshmallows: In a medium pot, add the butter and melt it over medium heat. Allow it to fully melt before adding the marshmallows.
  3. Combine with Vanilla: Once the marshmallows have melted completely, remove the pot from heat and add in the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in Rice Krispies and Strawberries: Gently fold in the cereal until it’s completely coated. Add in 3/4 cup of the chopped freeze-dried strawberries.
  5. Spread and Top: Spread the treat mixture into the prepared pan, pressing down firmly.
  6. Melt and Drizzle the Chocolate: Melt the chocolate candy melts in the microwave and drizzle over the treats.
  7. Cool and Cut into Squares: Allow the treats to cool completely before cutting them into squares.
