- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar (for filling)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for filling)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla, and whisk until smooth.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Mix softened butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the filling until smooth.
- Spread half the cake batter evenly in the greased pan.
- Spoon cinnamon filling over the batter, spread it out gently.
- Drop spoonfuls of remaining batter over the filling and spread to cover.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
- Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Once baked, cool the cake for 10 minutes, then drizzle glaze over it while warm.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
