- 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite or 7UP)
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: additional cinnamon sugar for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Wash, peel, core, and slice each apple into eight wedges.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough, place an apple wedge on each triangle, and roll it up tightly.
- Place the wrapped dumplings seam-side down in the baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the syrup over the dumplings.
- Gently pour the lemon-lime soda around the dumplings.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
- Let cool for 10 minutes and serve with syrup and ice cream if desired.
