  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite or 7UP)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: additional cinnamon sugar for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Wash, peel, core, and slice each apple into eight wedges.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough, place an apple wedge on each triangle, and roll it up tightly.
  4. Place the wrapped dumplings seam-side down in the baking dish.
  5. In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the syrup over the dumplings.
  7. Gently pour the lemon-lime soda around the dumplings.
