- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg

- 1/3 cup caramel sauce (for drizzling)
Instructions
- Start by peeling and dicing your apples into small, bite-sized chunks. Set the diced apples aside.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter with both the brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the large egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, mixing until smooth.
- Gradually add your dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples.
- Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- After the cookies have cooled, drizzle them with warm caramel sauce.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use coconut oil or margarine instead of butter.
