Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and optional garlic powder or herbs.
- Add the cold cubed butter to the dry mix and work it until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese evenly.
- Pour in the milk or buttermilk and stir gently until just combined.
- Transfer the dough into your prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly, and bake for 40–45 minutes.
- Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
