  2. Gradually add water while whisking to ensure a smooth mixture.
  3. Heat mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches a gentle boil.
  4. Allow to simmer for 3-5 minutes while stirring, until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Cool to room temperature and transfer to a glass jar for storage.
