Description

If you’re craving something warm, cozy, and downright delicious, look no further than this Fried Apples recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium apples
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start your fried apple adventure by peeling, coring, and slicing the apples into wedges about 1/2-inch thick.
  2. Next, heat your large skillet over medium heat. Once it’s warm, add the butter, allowing it to melt completely until it begins to foam lightly.
  3. Now, add the sliced apples to the skillet, making sure to sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over them.
  4. To amp up the flavor, sprinkle in the ground cinnamon and pour in the vanilla extract.
  5. Let the apples simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes or until they become tender and start to caramelize.
  6. If you prefer your fried apples to have a thicker glaze, you can create a simple cornstarch slurry.
  7. Once the apples are beautifully caramelized and tender, remove them from the heat.

Notes

Use sweet apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji for the best flavor.
