  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Additional granulated sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix all-purpose flour, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream softened butter with granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg, molasses, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until combined.
  6. Scoop and roll dough into balls, coat in sugar, and place on baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and tops are cracking. Cool on wire rack.
