Description
This Ginger Soy Glazed Cod recipe is a delightful and nutritious seafood dish that combines sweet and savory flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cod fillets (6 oz / 170 g each)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (60 ml)
- 2 tbsp honey (30 ml)
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar (30 ml)
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil (15 ml)
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet: Begin by setting your oven to preheat at 400°F (200°C). Meanwhile, prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper, which will make it easier to clean up later.
- Create the Flavorful Glaze: In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Whisk these ingredients together thoroughly until you achieve a smooth, well-blended glaze.
- Glaze and Arrange the Cod: Place the prepared cod fillets on the baking sheet. Using a culinary brush, generously coat each fillet with the prepared glaze, ensuring even coverage across all surfaces.
- Bake and Finish the Dish: Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and allow the cod to bake for about 12 to 15 minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro after removing from the oven.
Notes
Ensure your cod fillets are similar in size for even cooking. This recipe works best with fresh fish, but frozen cod can be used if thawed completely before cooking.
