Description
Quick and satisfying homemade Ground Beef Tacos, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 0.25 cup water
- 8 corn taco shells or tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 0.25 cup diced onion or pickled red onion
- 0.25 cup sour cream or guacamole (optional)
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Begin the process by heating a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the ground beef in the skillet and break it apart with a spatula. Cook the meat for about 6 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently, until it is fully browned and no longer pink.
- Once the beef is nicely browned, it’s important to drain any excess grease from the skillet. This not only makes your tacos healthier but also prevents them from becoming too oily.
- Now that you have your beef ready, lower the heat and sprinkle in the taco seasoning. Pour in the quarter cup of water, and stir the mixture well to combine. Allow it to simmer for around 3 to 5 minutes.
- While the meat is simmering, it’s time to warm your taco shells. You can do this by placing them in the oven for a few minutes.
- While the shells are heating, focus on preparing your toppings. Wash and shred the lettuce, dice your tomato, and chop the onions.
- Now comes the fun part! Take a warm taco shell and fill it generously with the seasoned ground beef.
- Finish your tacos with a fresh squeeze of lime directly over the toppings for added zest. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
